FAQs - IAF

It is a first ever event held by the Government of Indonesia, to strengthen a closer relations between Indonesia and African countries. Details can be found http://iaf.kemlu.go.id/about/what-is-the-iaf.

IAF is going to be held from 10 – 11 April 2018.

IAF is going to be held in Bali, Indonesia. Bali is one of the famous tourism destination island in Indonesia.

The participants of IAF are government officials and business people from African countries and Indonesia.

IAF participation is by invitation from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in African countries.

There is no cost for participating at this event.

International flights usually transit at the capital, Jakarta. Therefore, you will need another flight from Jakarta to Bali. However, some international airlines already fly directly to Bali.

Most of African countries do not need visa to enter Indonesia for a short visit (usually 30 days), check your country from this link http://www.indonesia.travel/gb/en/before-you-go/visa-immigration. However, please make sure whether you need visa by contacting Indonesian Embassy in your country or accredited to your country.

IAF 2018 is the first time the Government of Indonesia organize this kind of event. IAF is not a yearly event.

Indonesia’s national currency is Rupiah (Indonesian Rupiah = IDR). The exchange rate normally fluctuates between IDR 13.000 and IDR 14.000 for US$ 1.

Most merchants are willing to accept US Dollars. In case you will need to change into Rupiah, the local currency, there are money changers available at the airport and throughout the city. Credit Cards is also commonly used.

Taxis are widely available in Bali. Renting a car (with a driver) is also another option.
